A LITTLE HELP DECIDING

Find a dinner idea that fits tonight

Narrow the meal ideas to the kind of evening you want, then let the dinner picker choose from the matches. Suggestions are starting points for deciding what to cook or look for on a menu.

How to use it

  1. Choose whether to cook at home, order in, go out, or be surprised. Set a time limit, then optionally choose a budget, dietary style, and cuisine.
  2. Check the matching-ideas count and select Pick tonight's dinner. Widen a filter if no ideas match.
  3. Try a backup pick, save a favorite, or choose Not tonight to exclude a suggestion for this session. Clear history and skipped choices to restore excluded ideas.

Ideas to try

  • A quick meat-free evening

Choose Cook at home, 20 minutes, Keep it inexpensive, and Vegetarian. Check the suggested ingredients before you start.

  • A specific craving

Choose a cuisine you feel like eating and leave the other filters flexible. Pick something else if the first suggestion does not appeal.

Common questions

Does it check restaurant menus or delivery times?

No. These are meal ideas, not live restaurant listings. Times are estimates that may assume ready-to-use staples; actual preparation, delivery, travel, prices, and availability vary. Confirm those details before ordering or making plans.

Why isn't my custom favorite appearing?

Custom ideas have no dietary tags and appear only with No preference and Any cuisine. The tool currently gives them default 20-minute and inexpensive labels, so use Any budget or Keep it inexpensive to include them. Those defaults are placeholders, not verified cooking times or prices.

Will Pick something else avoid repeats?

It avoids the immediately previous pick when another matching idea is available, but older picks can return. Use Not tonight to exclude an idea for the session. If only one matching idea remains, it can be picked again.

Do dietary filters guarantee a suitable meal?

No. Dietary labels describe suggested versions of a dish. Verify ingredients, substitutions, and preparation yourself; restaurant recipes and packaged products can differ. For allergies or gluten-free needs, also check cross-contact with the restaurant or manufacturer.
